Darkness Contest

Contest ends JULY 31st! Time is running out for any of you last minute submitters!

If you are participating in my contest, YOU NEED TO NOTE/COMMENT ME as to WHAT YOU WILL BE DESIGNING! I need to see how many people are participating, and know how many characters i can be expecting! There were a lot more of you who seemed to be interested in this contest, where did you all go?

Well, here it is! The info you've been waiting for!

PRIZES!!

ALL PARTICIPANTS SHALL RECEIVE A FREE, FULL COLOR DRAWING OF ONE OF YOUR CHARACTERS, OR ANY CHARACTER OF YOUR CHOICE! (this means, that you MUST design, draw, AND SUBMIT, a drawing to me. If you say you're participating and then DON'T submit anything, well...screw you. ALSO, if you DO NOT note me about what character you want drawn after you submit your entry, i will assume you want the character you designed drawn, and that is what you'll get.)

SELECT participants shall receive (along with the drawing/feature) a free, 3 month subscription! I won't tell you WHO, or you'll all jump on the bandwagon. I'm not that rich...

ALL PARTICIPANTS SHALL RECEIVE A MONTH LONG JOURNAL FEATURE!

This is a chance for you to design a character for a comic i will be creating, and having your characters featured in a comic. OF COURSE, your character will get credit, YOU will be credited, and ALL participators will get a month feature in my journal! ANY page that has your character will have your name/icon in the artists comments box. What I'm looking for, are character designs; basically, character sheets. Now, here's all the crucial info!

ALL characters age 16+ MUST have an occupation! Occupations are set by GENDER! Don't like it? Tough! There is also a certain amount of these characters that i want. If you see a number in parenthesis, that means there are only that many slots available for the "job". And you HAVE to NOTE ME to obtain this position! FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE! If the slots are filled, i will tell you in a reply! If there is NO number next to it, that means there is an unlimited opening for that position. *apprentices are separate from the official job! You can design the apprentice, but not the doctor, etc. You can design the Doctor, but NOT the apprentice. OR, you can design BOTH.* You can submit UP TO 3 Entrees, preferably of different occupations, though not required. For example, if you have a family of 3, and all tend to one farm. (Even if drawn as 1 deviation, it counts as 3 characters)

Character Guidelines:

ALL CHARACTERS NEED TO FOLLOW THE BASIC DESIGN OF [link] ! THEY ALL NEED THE COAT THING, BUT YOU CAN ALTER IT IN ANY WAY! Even their under-clothing can be WHATEVER you'd like, but PLEASE nothing OVERLY sexual!

-No unnatural hair colors (ex: pink, green, blue,etc)
-No unnatural eye colors (ex: silver, red, orange, etc)
-HUMANS only! No elves, no "fantasy" characters!
-No matter WHAT TYPE OF SHOE, ALL SHOES HAVE THE SAME SOLES! (ex: [link])
-No barefoot characters
-Characters can ONLY have gender specific jobs!
-ALL characters age 16+ MUST have an occupation
-NO WEAPONS!
-No Guns
-Bows/Knives for Hunting/Cooking
-No thieves, crooks, murderers, etc.
-*NO FEMALE CHARACTERS WITH RIDICULOUSLY LARGE BREASTS!!*
I can NOT stress that one enough.

There is NO currency (money). Everything is barter and trade.

Yes, You get a VERY long time to work on this.
I know a lot of my watchers and participants
have school, work, and a life. I know not
everyone NEEDS this much time, but for those of
you who DO, it is available to you!

ALSO! Your submissions DO NOT have to be in color.
My comic may/may not be colored.
We'll see how much time i have when working on it.

work.

Info about the dream that started this all!


We were a futuristic pioneer family, coming to a new planet COMPLETELY uninhabited by humans. It was very similar to earth, and only inhabited by strange animals (bear like creatures, mountain lion like creatures - your typical mountain/meadow animals, only altered)So there were a select few families (about 20) who were sent down to the planet to start building homes, planting crops, and preparing a town for the rest of the populous to slowly make their way down to the planet. Slowly but surely we began a successful life on this new found planet; however, after a few months of peace, during the night, and ONLY during the night, the prominent men of the village began to disappear. They would disappear right from their beds, no sign of a struggle, no sign of anything. They simply vanished; including, in the dream, my boyfriend. And it seemed odd that ONLY MEN were vanishing and ONLY at NIGHT. It was called, "The Darkness". So it became law that everyone had to sleep with candle lamps burning in their rooms/homes. And for a while, it worked. No one disappeared, but no one returned. Then, one night, I (the main character of the dream) noticed that our hall candle light was out. I started to go out to the hall to call for someone to bring a light when i noticed something very strange - the light from the parents bedroom, didn't go down the hall way. it stopped at the corner of the "L" of the hall, and was PITCH BLACK, from floor to ceiling. So, (being the dummy that i am) i walked toward it, and in the dark, my boyfriend began to appear. but JUST, his skin, and it was PALE white. It was the creepiest thing; he was looking at me, but it was like, he wasn't there. Like he was possessed. I looked at him and whispered his name, and he LUNGED at me! I screamed as he tackled me to the ground, and i tried to fight him off, while screaming for help. No one heard me, and he drug me into the darkness. I had been the FIRST girl, taken into "The Darkness". The odd thing was, when you were taken, whatever "The Darkness" was, it stole your memories. The first thing it always stole, was your name. So i had my name taken from me, and i was confronted by this entity, which, with the men he had stolen, as well as their memories, he was able to form into a human figure but remained ENTIRELY black. Like a solid black shadow. In the dream, it jumped to me escaping from this "Dark" world, and being chased by my boyfriend. I couldn't remember my name, and i was so confused and frustrated, and he tackled me to the dirt, and as i looked up, i saw a field of blue flowers. I said the name "Sadie"
